Sunday, June 11, 2023, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PMLocation: Begins at OLMC. Ends at Carter Green.Participants will all gather at Our Lady of Mount Carmel on 146th Street in Carmel, Indiana, before walking in a Eucharistic Procession through Carmel to Carter Green.When Jesus walks through town, beautiful things tend to happen. Eucharistic Processions are powerful. Their impact and influence spiritually on the communities they venture through is beyond understanding. Join our Carmel Catholic community in bringing Christ to the City of Carmel through a three-hour Eucharistic Procession and Adoration, beginning at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and ending at Carter Green.
The details:
All parishes will meet at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church on 146th Street in Carmel, Indiana, where the procession will begin. Altogether, parishioners will process from OLMC to Carter Green where the Eucharist will be presented for adoration and prayer. Upon the event's completion at 4:30pm, participants will have the option to either walk back to their vehicles at OLMC or to take one of the buses provided for the event.
Key points to have in mind if you are joining the procession or will welcome it at Carter Green:
- Wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen.
- Bring portable chairs or blankets for sitting at the 12:30pm outdoor Mass at OLMC (attendance at the 12:30pm Mass is not required for participation in the Procession) and for the Adoration & Benediction service at Carter Green.
- Consider packing personal snacks and drinks.
- Feel free to park at Clay Terrace or Carmel downtown parking if you would like to join the procession along the route instead of at the start.
- If you are walking in the procession, consider staging a vehicle near Carter Green early in the day for your trip home.
- There will be shuttle buses stationed near Carter Green making three-to-four trips from Carter Green to OLMC for approximately two hours following the Adoration and Benediction service. This service can carry a limit of 650-850 people. Buses are limited by the number of hours the drivers are permitted to drive in one day. These buses are arriving to Carter Green just after driving OLMC teens back from Holy Cross College in South Bend earlier in the day.
- Public restrooms are located at the east side of Carter Green, near the Hotel Carmichael.
- Volunteer "Shepherds" in yellow T-shirts will guide the procession as we walk behind the Blessed Sacrament; each Shepherd will wear a backpack with basic first aid supplies and water bottles especially reserved for those experiencing difficulty.
