The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) at St. Elizabeth Seton guides people on a journey of faith—one that involves the entire community. It is a process for those seeking to develop or deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ.
The RCIA process is a series of carefully planned stages, marked by liturgical rites in the presence of the community, in which those seeking Jesus Christ and His Church embark on and join us in a continuing and deepening conversion into faith and discipleship.
The RCIA process is divided into four phases to help the seeker, the Christian from another faith community, or an unbaptized individual in their Christian formation. Presentations focus on the Catholic Church’s teaching regarding: how to encounter Jesus Christ and develop a relationship with Him, the sacraments, liturgy, social justice, conscience formation and morality, Mary and the saints, sacred scripture and prayer.
